Meghalaya State Energy Corporation Limited manages all those responsible for the distribution of power throughout the state. Meghalaya State Electricity Council (MSEB) has not been consolidated as part of energy sector reforms, nor is it grouped into four companies as a regime for the transfer of reforms Meghalaya Power 2010. The four companies are:
1. Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) - Holding Company
2. Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) - Distribution Company
3. Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Limited (MePGCL) - Production Company
4. Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Limited (MEPTCL) - Transmission Company
The Meghalaya Electricity Board has been divided under the Electricity Provisions Act 2003 to improve transparency, accountability, competitiveness, loss reduction and Performance improvement for customer satisfaction. All the benefits, properties, rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Meghalaya State Electricity Council (MSEB) were transferred to four companies. MSEB, all bonds, liabilities, pensions, gratuity, encashment, pension benefits, retirement pension are insured by Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited (MeECL). All personal transfers from Meghalaya State Electric Board to Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited will be provisional for twelve months.
The state of Meghalaya consists of high mountains; The deep gorges have a large and unused hydroelectric potential. The production capacity exceeds 3000 MW. The current production capacity is 185 MW in the state. But power is not enough to fully meet the demand for state power, so as to meet demand, MeECL imports electricity. To meet demand and / or economic growth, several projects are launched by the Meghalaya government, but some of them are in the course of work, it is expected to generate an additional 751 MW by the Garo Hills Thermal project.

Enter your consumer account number, click the Continue button, take you to the new page, enter the name, mobile number, e-mail address, user name, password etc. Now complete the registration step. And go back to the payment page. And click the Quick Pay button. On the next page, you requested the consumer details as a customer account number, click the Next button. And able to see your billing information and click on the Payment button and select the payment method, give the appropriate details of the payment method and pay your bill. Make sure you take a copy of the receipt after payment.
